HOW TO MAKE TWO-COLOR FRIENDSHIP BRACELETS
Making these bracelets is easy if you know how and tricky if you don’t. Hopefully this tutorial will help smooth out the difference between those two levels.
The following 9 instructions will correspond with the last 9 images (all but the first image).
Choose 2 colors. If this is your first attempt, you may want to use green and silver to avoid confusion. Measure both colors out to your full wingspan (hold your arms out to your sides and stretch the string between them). Cut.
Fold the strings in half. Tie a knot about half an inch from the top, making a loop. Tape the loop to your counter (or knee, or computer, or whatever) and fan the colors out as above; one color inside, one out.
Pull out the first two strings. Fold the silver string over the green string, making a shape like a “4”. Tuck the silver string back under the green string and pull it through the hole. This is a single knot. Pull it all the way to the top, holding the green string tightly. If you pull on the silver string too tightly, the knot will reverse. You should see the silver string on top when the knot is tight. The string pattern will not change: silver, green, green, silver.
Make the single knot again and pull it to the top, covering the first knot. This is a double knot. The string will want to pull to the right. This changes the string pattern to: green, silver, green, silver.
Put the first two strings to the side. Now you will make the single knot again, but mirrored. Fold the second silver string over the second green string, making a backwards “4”. Tuck the silver string back under the green string and pull it to the top. The string pattern does not change. Repeat this as you did in step 4 to make another double knot. The string pattern changes to: green, silver, silver, green.
You now have 2 silver double knots at the top of your bracelet. Put the green strings aside. Make a double knot with the two silver strings. It doesn’t matter which string is on top because they’re the same color, but you may want to stay consistent (a left-to-right knot every time) to avoid ending up with one string much shorter than the other. The string pattern does not change.
You now have 3 silver double knots at the top of your bracelet. These should be in a triangle; if they’re in a straight line, you have a problem and probably pulled the last knot too tight.
Echoing steps 3 and 4, make a double knot with the left green string. This changes the string pattern to: silver, green, silver, green.
Repeat steps 5 and 6 with the green strings. Continue until your desired length is achieved - 6 or 7 inches is usually good for a bracelet, or wrap it around your wrist to check.
Tie a plain knot at the end of your bracelet. Tuck this knot, and the remaining string, through the loop you tied in step 2. Tie another knot behind the first. You’re finished!
lindseytheslytherinpotioneer asked: Donnie from Donnie Darko
"The rabbit’s not like us. It has no… keen look at something in the mirror, it has no history books, no photographs, no knowledge of sorrow or regret… I mean, I’m sorry, Miss Pommeroy, don’t get me wrong; y’know, I like rabbits and all. They’re cute and they’re horny. And if you’re cute and you’re horny, then you’re probably happy, in that you don’t know who you are and why you’re even alive. And you just wanna’ have sex, as many times as possible, before you die… I mean, I just don’t see the point in crying over a dead rabbit! Y’know, who… who never even feared death to begin with."
getzugs asked: Melchior Gabor from Spring Awakening
"All they say
Is “Trust in What is Written”
Wars are made
And somehow that is wisdom
Thought is suspect
And money is their idol
And nothing is okay unless it’s scripted in their Bible.”
agirlonfire asked: Obi-Wan Kenobi from Star Wars
"You wanna buy some death sticks?"
"You don’t want to sell me death sticks."
"I don’t want to sell you death sticks."
"You want to go home and rethink your life."
"I want to go home and rethink my life."
kaidasalene asked: River Tam from Firefly
"What are we up to, sweetheart?"
"Fixing your Bible."
"I, um… What?"
"Bible’s broken. Contradictions, false logistics - doesn’t make sense."
"No, no. You-you-you can’t-"
”So we’ll integrate non-progressional evolution theory with God’s creation of Eden. Eleven inherent metaphoric parallels already there. Eleven. Important number. Prime number. One goes into the house of eleven eleven times, but always comes out one. Noah’s ark is a problem.”
"We’ll have to call it early quantum state phenomenon. Only way to fit 5000 species of mammal on the same boat."
crosseyedcupid asked: Britta Perry from Community
"Don’t tell me you had sex with me just to win at paintball."
"No. I had sex with you and I’m going to win at paintball. Don’t be gross."
moonshoesmaggie asked: moonshoesmaggie
"Grandy’s? It’s like Denny’s, except it isn’t Denny’s."
agirlonfire asked: Legolas Greenleaf from The Lord of the Rings
"The stars are veiled. Something stirs in the East. A sleepless malice. The eye of the enemy is moving. He is here."
aphroditedeine asked: Aziraphale from Good Omens
"Many people, meeting Aziraphale for the first time, formed three impressions: that he was English, that he was intelligent, and that he was gayer than a treeful of monkeys on nitrous oxide."
